Castrillon, Barker & Associates, LLC, (aka CBA Consultants), is a full service elevator and escalator consulting firm offering a wide range of professional services which include field surveys, system layouts, inspections, evaluations, preparation of specifications, and much more. Our clientele includes architects, engineering firms, developers, building owners, managers, contractors and Federal, State and Local Government agencies. Occasionally, we are contracted by other "consultants" for our engineering expertise.
The two principals of CBA Consultants have close to fifty years combined experience in the industry. As an independent firm made up of professionals from throughout the elevator industry, our staff has a wide range of experience and expertise in all facets of vertical transportation including design, operations, maintenance, repair, modernization and construction.

Industry Experience of Principals
Wilson Castrillon has been in the elevator industry business for over twenty five years. He started as an elevator draftsman and went on to hold several high positions including the Director of Applications Engineering for a major New York City Elevator Company and Vice President for a major New York City Elevator Consulting Company. In the 1990’s he received his NYC Department of Buildings inspector’s license and his QEI Certification. In 1999 he started his own elevator consulting business providing design, engineering and preordering elevator equipment for buildings owners and developers to expedite the elevator installation and / or modernization.
In 2005 he formed CBA Consultants with his partner, Paul Barker. Throughout Wilson’s career he has been responsible for all phases of both modernization and new construction jobs. Some of his responsibilities have included performing detailed field surveys, creating elevator equipment layout drawings, ordering and scheduling deliveries of all equipment, coordinating various field trades and workers, and interfacing with architects and building representatives.
He has worked on many elevator modernizations of New York City’s landmark buildings such as Metropolitan Life Building at 200 Park Ave., JP Morgan Post Office, The Port Authority Bus Terminal, and numerous mid and high rise buildings as well as many residential buildings. He was the consultant responsible for the modernization and new construction of over twenty elevators in the famous Chelsea Market. Wilson knows and understands the specific concerns and demands of building owners, managers and architects.
Paul Barker (QEI) entered the elevator industry in 1985 as an apprentice in the modernization field. Within three years he became an "A" Mechanic, running modernization jobs, troubleshooting and answering emergency service calls.
In 1991 Paul was granted an inspector’s license by the New York City Department of Buildings and joined a top NYC Consulting firm where he began developing specifications for elevator modernizations and new installations. Here he learned the engineering aspects of vertical transportation and also developed drafting and design skills. In 2002, Paul started his own consulting company and licensed inspection agency. In 2005 he joined forces with Wilson Castrillon to form Castrillon, Barker & Associates, LLC.
By working his way up through the ranks, Paul’s experience has given him a well rounded knowledge of all aspects of the elevator industry. This knowledge and experience are valuable tools which are passed on to our customers through the services we provide.
Paul has worked on numerous prestigious projects including the modernization of the elevators in the "Flatiron" Building, the Chase Bank World Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, Sotheby’s and Carnegie Hall.
